FMK is home to some of New Zealand's leading keratin specialists, providing nutrient rich treatments. Our treatments are suitable for all hair types and safe on coloured, bleached and chemically treated, ethnic hair and even virgin hair.
Whether you’re wanting to go as straight as possible or just reduce frizz and define curl we have a treatment suitable for you! By simply adjusting the technique used, FMK treatments can be customised to cater to different hair types and offer a variety of results.
All with the same 3 step system you can achieve a straight look, relax the curl while still retaining body and bounce, or just minimise frizz. When you arrive to your appointment, one of our expert stylists will do a consultation with you and from there we will choose the best treatment suitable for your hair type and desired result.

Keratin Straightening
This treatment is perfect for you if you want straight hair! This is the strongest and most popular conditioning treatment we have available. The Keratin Straightening is an intense treatment that dramatically softens, smooths and straightens hair whilst eliminating frizz.
This treatment is suitable for extremely thick, Frizzy or very curly hair that is hard to manage.
You won’t have to worry anymore about your hair style on a rainy-humid day or after a swim.

After a few months, your hair will start to transition back to its natural form while the Keratin washes out. Remember, this is not a permanent straightening treatment but a more gentle and natural solution that makes your hair healthier, straighter and more manageable. It will eliminate frizz and unwanted curl giving you natural looking straight hair that lasts between 2-4 months.
You can still curl and style your hair with heated tools after having this treatment so you are not restricted to wearing your hair straight every day, however you can wash and wear with little to no styling necessary.
The straightening treatment is full of protein, while not being harmful or as strong as chemical straightening so you won’t need to worry about causing any damage to your hair. In fact, the keratin treatment will moisturise and reconstruct your hair, repairing any previous damage, leaving your hair looking shiny, soft and straight. This treatment contains a low level of formaldehyde (0.03%) which is in line with the NZ health and safety standards.
​The straightening treatment is safe to use on coloured, bleached and chemically treated hair, however we recommend a 1 week break in between keratin and a colouring service - it does not matter which order you book them in.
Keratin Smoothing
This treatment lets you go from curls to softer curls or waves depending on your natural hair type. A perfect solution if you like your hair movement and volume but wanting a healthier and more manageable curl. Your hair is relaxed with the active ingredient keratin, a protein similar to the one we have in our hair.
Keratin Relaxer works to Eliminate frizz and reduce curl without taking away its own natural movement body and bounce. With this treatment Your hair will look shiny, healthy, frizz free but not dead straight (will leave a slight wave with curly hair)

It will eliminate frizz and minimise curl, results last between 2-4 months.

The treatment is full of protein, while not being harmful or as strong as chemical straightening so you won’t need to worry about causing any damage to your hair. In fact, the keratin treatment will moisturise and reconstruct your hair from the inside, repairing any previous damage, leaving your hair looking shiny, soft and straight. This treatment contains a lower level of formaldehyde than the straightening treatment (0.02%) which is in line with the NZ health and safety standards.
Keratin De-frizz
A milder yet deep conditioning treatment that allows you to keep the curl, but reduce Frizz. This treatment will visibly make your hair appear healthier and shinier. The lightweight formula helps tame frizz, reduce unwanted fly-away hair while creating a heathier and shinier result.
​After a few months, your hair will start to transition back to its natural form while the Keratin washes out. You can still curl and style your hair with heated tools after having this treatment.
This formula is formaldehyde free and is not as strong as our other treatments. Although your hair will look and feel much healthier, this treatment will not reduce or define any existing curl. And the results last between 4 to 6 weeks.
